Ridgeway Research Limited is a UK-based Contract Research Organisation (CRO) with over 30 years of experience delivering research and development projects to help advance veterinary medicine and feed additive products in livestock.

About you:

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Quality Assurance Assistant to be an integral part of our quality function. You’ll be at the forefront of pioneering quality initiatives, the role will also involve data analysis, conducting investigations, managing audits, and ensuring excellence in all aspects of quality.

This post would suit someone who is highly organised, flexible in their work activities, willing to operate in a busy atmosphere where accuracy and a keen eye for detail is essential.

The candidate would be working in a small and friendly team where excellent interpersonal skills are valued.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

Qualifications/ Essentials:

  • Adaptable and a quick learner.
  • Works well in a team and independently.
  • Highly organised with attention to detail

  • Expected to work to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and be able to closely follow instruction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365

Desirables:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience working to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.
  • Background in natural sciences, microbiology, agriculture or come from a laboratory environment.
  • Enthusiasm to succeed.
  • Ability to juggle a variety of tasks at any one time.
  • Interest in research and Animal Health

Job Title: Quality Assurance Assistant

Job Responsibilities:

Working with the Lead QA you will be required to manage quality assurance for Ridgeway Research Ltd in accordance with the principles of GLP and the Test Facility QA SOPs. This will involve performing an auditory role and liaising closely with Management & Study Directors/Investigators to facilitate compliance.

  • Organize and carry out inspections to ensure that studies are conducted in accordance to the relevant guidelines, protocol/study plan and SOPs.
  • Review study plans, protocols, amendments and deviations for compliance.
  • Review final reports to confirm that the methods, procedures and observations are accurately and completely described, and that the reported results accurately and completely reflect the raw data of the studies.
  • Promptly report any inspection results in writing to Management and to the Study Director/Investigator.

Post Offered:

Permanent part-time position (between 8 – 16 hours per week)

Remuneration:

Salary £24,000 – £29,000 per annum pro rata [dependant on age and experience]

Other Information:

Due to the rural location of our business and the lack of public transport, you are responsible to organise yourself (either by holding a valid driving licence and a vehicle to drive/ carpooling/ a lift) in order to get into work on time and leave work every day.

The candidate would need to be comfortable with the idea of farm animal research associated with improving animal health. Although the candidate would not be directly working with any animals the intimacy of the site entails that all employees work in close proximity to their accommodation.
